  • Flower

    Dried cannabis buds, a classic favorite, stored in simple, recyclable glass jars. But is commonly distributed in non-recyclable plastic bags

  • Concentrate

    Potent cannabis extracts like wax, badders, resin, and rosin are typically stored in small, recyclable glass jars.

  • Topicals

    Cannabis-infused creams and lotions are often in small, durable glass jars or containers, offering recyclable and reusable options

  • Tinctures

    Oil/Alcohol based cannabis in glass bottles. The glass dropper and rubber cap can be separated for proper recycling of both materials.

Here's How It Works:

  • Pack It

    Swing by one of our bins in Columbus and drop off your empty dispensary jars - Scrub or prep is appreciated but not necessary.

  • Hit It

    Not all jars are recycling-ready, so we roll up our sleeves! We remove stickers, clean off residue, and make sure each jar meets SWACO’s recycling requirements.

  • Pass It

    Finally, we deliver the jars to SWACO, where they’re properly recycled and kept out of landfills. Simple and impactful!

Non-Recyclable VS Recyclable

  • Non-Recyclable (Bad Condition)

    THC Residue:

    Jars with visible oil, wax, or sticky residue that has built up over time. (such as resin jars with baked-on residue).

    Jars with Leftover Product:

    Any glass jars with traces of cannabis or any product inside that are not fully emptied cannot be accepted.

    Printed Labels:

    Jars where the label or print is fused onto the glass and cannot be removed.

  • Recyclable (Good Condition)

    Clean & Empty:

    Jars that are free from any product residue, including THC or other cannabis oils, and are dry.

    Easy to Separate:

    Jars with removable plastic or rubber droppers or lids. These can be sorted for proper recycling.

    Sticker Labels:

    Jars that have either been wiped clean or where the labels are removable.

Broken Glass

We cannot accept broken glass. Due to safety concerns, we cannot process glass that is cracked or shattered, as it poses a risk during handling and recycling.
Handling Broken Glass:
If a jar is broken, please dispose of it in your regular waste. For safety reasons, we cannot collect or recycle damaged glass through our drop-off service.
